I am interested in suicide prevention, intervention and grief support. I am a Master ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) Trainer and have started Project CASE to combat the devastating effects of depression and suicide.

I lost my mother to suicide in 1971 at the age of 48. I lost my first born child (son) to suicide in 2000 at the age of 29. Both battled severe depression and difficult circumstances in their lives brought both to the point of feeling hopeless and helpless. Neither felt there was any hope and could go no further. I love them both and have devoted as much of my time as possible to trying to prevent this tragedy in other families. I am currently working on a book that traces my son's journey and the aftermath of suicide as it affects family and friends. If it is ever published, I sincerely hope that it will help others recognize the roots and signs of depression and to help avert further loss of life.
